Job Description

VCA Canada Central Saanich Animal Hospital is currently welcoming a Veterinary Technician to join our team. We offer a competitive hourly wage between $25-33 per hour, a signing and relocation bonus for the right candidate, and a flexible schedule for the perfect work life balance!If you are passionate about joining a team that likes to mentor, learn, and grow together, then we are the right fit for you! If you are a newer tech, we are happy to start you off in our mentorship program with one of our experienced techs until you are comfortable. If you are experienced, we would love to be a future mentor.Roles and responsibilities include:

  • Have completed a Veterinary Technician/Technologist or Animal Health Technician/Technologist program.
  • Technical skills or knowledge of physical examinations, patient assessment, catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, radiology, venipuncture, and pharmacy.
  • Surgical preparation, assisting and patient recovery
  • Ability to keep detailed and accurate patient records
  • Compassionate care for our hospitalized patients and their pet parents
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Ability to problem-solve or the ability to ask clarifying questions to help you find solutions
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills in working with your colleagues and pet parents
  • Passion to learn more within the role
  • A love for all companion animals!
About Central Saanich Animal HospitalWe are an AAHA accredited hospital providing care for not only dogs and cats, but also furry, feathered, and scaly pets, including Fish! We also have Vancouver Island’s only board-certified Canine Rehabilitation veterinarian on our team providing a complete service for our patient’s rehabilitation needs and preventative care.Our hospital is located on the southern peninsula of the beautiful Vancouver Island surrounded by tranquil beaches in all four directions, with the mountains just a short drive away.
