Job Description

LARGE VESSEL - ENGINEERCooke is a global seafood company with operations in North America, Europe, South America and Australia. Our company #39;s success is driven by our dynamic, highly skilled, and innovative management team, supported by dedicated employees who live in coastal communities and contribute to the local area #39;s economy and sense of community.The Role:As a result of our robust growth, we are adding a Engineer to our team of professionals in our St. George, NB office. This position will report and work directly with the Vessel CaptainPrimary duties are (not limited to):- Safe and economical operations of all machinery on the vessel.- Proper maintenance of all machinery on the vessel.- Performs troubleshooting, and problem solving as well as preventative and corrective maintenance to prevent downtime and to ensure the efficient and continual functioning of the vessel.- Environmental management- Monitoring of bunkers and lubricants.- Maintain accurate records and other duties as assigned.Qualifications/Requirements/Attributes:- Third-Class Engineer Certificate issued by Transport Canada.- SCTW Motor Certificate.- Strong in sense of responsibility and pride in the overall condition of machinery.- Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.- Experienced with Safety Management Systems.- Valid Marine Basic First Aid or Advanced First Aid and CPR.- Valid Seafarers Medical Certificate.- Valid Canadian Passport with the ability to enter the US.- A certification in the Transportation of Dangerous Goods will be considered an asset.- As per company policy, a clear result of a pre-employment criminal background check.- First Aid and CPR.- Valid Seafarers Medical Certificate.- Valid Canadian Passport with the ability to enter the US.- A certification in the Transportation of Dangerous Goods will be considered an asset.- As per company policy, a clear result of a pre-employment criminal background check.The Opportunity:The role description is just one part of the story.
