Health and Safety Officer Required In The Campbellton to Miramichi Area Of New Brunswick Improving health and safety in the province and preventing workplace injuries – be part of the solution The team at WorkSafeNB is passionate about promoting health and safety in New Brunswick workplaces. WorkSafeNB is seeking a Health and Safety Officer to fill a vacancy in the areas from Campbellton to Miramichi. Reporting to the Manager, Compliance Services, you promote safe and healthy work environments across the province through educating employers and employees on their rights and responsibilities. Your key areas of responsibility: • Promote safe and healthy workplaces across the province through conducting workplace inspections and enforcing the New Brunswick Occupational Healthamp; Safety (OHS) Act and its Regulations. • Required to be on call, and first on scene, to investigate incidents, complaints, and work refusals. • Provide expertise, consultation and assistance to clients, Prevention Team, other members of WorkSafeNB as well as internal and external technical committees. You also embrace the following competencies: • Client-focused Service • Adaptability • Teamwork and Collaboration • Ensuring Accountability • Analytical Thinking • Attention to Detail • Emotional Intelligence / Self-awareness • Enforcement • Note Taking and Report Writing • Consulting and Advising You, as a successful candidate, possess: • University degree, or post-secondary diploma, in a relevant discipline. • Must have three years of relevant work experience in a technical speciality including experience with health and safety related work. • Ability to demonstrate a sound knowledge of health and safety issues and principles. • CRSP (Canadian Registered Safety Professional) or CHSC (Certified Health and Safety Consultant) certification is considered an asset. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. You will be required to have a valid driver license and required to use your own vehicle. Travel expenses are reimbursed as per our expense directive. Written and spoken competency in English and French is required.
