The Saint John Police operates with a budget of approximately $26 million. The Saint John Police is seeking an Inspector for our Support Services Division to provide leadership, strong level of integrity and inspire loyalty and confidence within the organization and the community. This senior level management position will report directly to the Deputy Police Chief. The primary responsibility of this position is to lead, direct, organize and evaluate the operational activities, functions, and resources of the units in the Support Services Division which include: Administrative/Support Services, Exhibits and Property Control, Victim Services and Volunteer Programs, Facilities Management, Fleet Management, Training and Development, Policy and Risk Management and the Public Safety Communications Centre. This position exercises direct supervision over sworn and civilian police personnel. As an experienced law enforcement executive, you will drive continuous improvement to optimize police services to meet the changing needs of the community. You will be part of the Senior Command Team to aid in leading the organization in innovation. You will possess a track record of effectively solving problems, mentoring future leaders, ensuring members of the organization perform their duties in accordance with the New Brunswick Police Act and Regulations.As a strategic communicator, you have a proven record of achieving organizational, public service and change management excellence. You are highly regarded as an inclusive relationship builder that places great value on earning the confidence of others through leveraging team building, community engagement, and nurturing strong external partnerships and stakeholders. As the successful candidate, you bring to the position extensive knowledge of contemporary principles and procedures of police administration. You have a minimum of ten years senior police management experience and a history of championing high levels of member and community engagement.
