The Regina Open Door Society (RODS) is a non-profit organization that provides settlement and integration services to refugees and immigrants in Regina. The term of these position is June 23rd, 2025 to August 29th 2025Requirements: In order to qualify for this position, the applicant must meet all the criteria below.PLEASE DON #39;T APPLY if you do not meet every of the following criteria at the time of applying for this position:

  • enrolled or returning student to any post-secondary education
  • younger than 30 years old (funder requirement)
    • 18-year-old and above (Regina Police Service requirement in order to obtain Criminal Record Check)
    • Have a Canadian Passport, Permanent Resident Card or Confirmation of Permanent Residency document to prove the candidate is entitled to work in You will be asked to provide one of these documents at the beginning of interview.
**International students are not eligible applicants.Position Description The Child and Youth Worker will work within the Settlement Family and Community Services Department to support programs and deliver the following services to newcomers: respond to client enquires; provide settlement information; provide a referral to services and programs in the community; conduct needs assessment with clients; update data entry; create and administer client survey; complete program report; provide orientation to Children age 6 to 15 or Youth 13-21 through educational and leisure Summer Program activities. Training will be provided.Qualifications/Skill Requirements:
  • You are under 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment;
  • You are a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act*; and
  • You are legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial / territorial legislation and
  • Ability to work in a cross-cultural setting with families whose first language is not English
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of local community resources that can assist newcomer families
  • Computer skills with knowledge of Windows, MS Office, email and
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
Hours of work are Monday to Friday from 8:15 AM to 3:45 PM with forty-five minutes unpaid lunch break. All positions at RODS require a clean criminal record.
