Programs range from primary care to acute care, and includes laboratories, pharmaceuticals and diagnostics. Additional programs that also support patient care and information include Virtual Care, the MySaskHealthRecord, and the Provincial Electronic Health Record. eHealth is also responsible for the administration of various pieces of legislation to manage the registration of/changes to all vital event records (e.g. birth, marriage, death, etc.), registration of legal name changes, registration of adoptions, and for maintaining the provincial health registry for health services eligibility and distribution of health services cards.The eHealth teams engage directly with health system partners and other stakeholders both provincially and federally to ensure all services are delivered efficiently and effectively.About the RoleWe are seeking a customer service, results and detail oriented individual to join our growing organization. This is an integral role in supporting our day to day operations and we’re looking for an individual who takes pride in their work and has strong technical and leadership abilities.Reporting to the Manager, IT Operations center (ITOC), this position will focus on supporting and maintaining existing monitoring tools that collect and report on performance data from over 2000 unique service delivery infrastructure devices in the eHealth I.T. environment. Metrics such as CPU, Memory, Traffic, and even temperature data is collected, stored, and analyzed to alert analysts of out of normal conditions.Performance data collected by the monitoring tools is provided to Architecture, Server, Applications, Network, Program teams and Management in order to make important decisions that directly impact end users. The monitoring systems play a key role in capacity management planning as well as historical performance trending and day to day troubleshooting.What are we looking forThe successful candidate will possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills and thrive in a dynamic, technology driven environment. Proven experience and skills in effective communication, leadership, problem solving, documentation standards, and a rigor for change management protocols and quality control are also required.To qualify for this position you must have knowledge/experience in the following:

  • Responsible for maintaining the current monitoring infrastructure for the Network, Server and Application environments
  • Collaborating with operations delivery teams to deliver end to end monitoring for all eHS delivered services
  • Creating and enhancing standard reporting to document the status of the eHealth environment
  • Knowledge of network protocols including SNMP, WMI and SSH
  • Understanding of system architecture, including processors, storage and networking
  • Experience writing relational database queries and reports
  • ITIL certification
  • Knowledge of Saskatchewan Health IT sector would be an asset.
  • Ability to work varied hours to accommodate standard off shift change windows and support a 24/7 operation delivering high availability services supporting the delivery of healthcare services (this includes active stand-by/on-call responsibilities)
The knowledge and skills required for this position would be attained through the completion of a Post-Secondary degree, or diploma in a computer sciences program, or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. In addition, you will have 4-5 years of experience working in a similar role within an integrated IT support environment.You will demonstrate having knowledge/experience in:
  • Unix, Linux and Windows Operating Systems
  • Windows core technologies such as Directory Services, Exchange
  • EMC Storage
  • Virtualization technologies;
  • Oracle, SQL, Tomcat, IIS, Java, Apache
  • Scripting languages (Unix shell, Microsoft VB script, Powershell, TCL, PERL)
  • Network technologies & protocols (SNMP, SSH, OSI Model)
