Senior Solutions EngineerOur client is a niche IT solutions provider, equipping clients across Canada with software, hardware and IT services solutions. Their repeat and loyal customers span government, commercial, healthcare, education and auto manufacturing and supply, to name a few, and they service SMB through to enterprise.With strong year over year growth and very little competition, this private, boutique company is growing and are looking to add a Senior Solutions Engineer to the team. This key position in the organization plays a critical role in driving sales and providing technical expertise for complex solutions. This role is all about collaborating with customers, designing tailored solutions, and effectively communicating the value and benefits of the organization’s offerings. The expertise of this position, in various technical domains, will contribute to the success and growth of the company.This position can be based anywhere in Canada and can expect to travel 10-20% of the time to various client locations across Canada.Responsibilities:Collaborate closely with customers to gain a comprehensive understanding of their technical requirements, challenges, and business objectives.Design and develop technical solutions that align with customer needs, leveraging company’s suite of products, services, and technologies.Provide pre-sales support to the sales team by conducting product demonstrations, delivering persuasive presentations, and engaging in technical discussions with potential customers.Create compelling and customized proposals, including detailed technical specifications, pricing, and implementation plans.Maintain a deep understanding of company’s products, industry trends, and emerging technologies to effectively communicate value propositions and address customer inquiries.Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction, loyalty, and repeat business.Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, such as product managers, engineers, and customer success teams, to ensure a seamless transition from sales to implementation.Core Requirements:Broad knowledge and experience across compute, storage, SAN, networking, backup, disaster recovery, and data protection.Corporate experience in designing and positioning solutions to meet business requirements, creating differentiated value, and ensuring cost control.Strong understanding of business needs, with a focus on delivering solutions that enhance and align with the customer #39;s objectives. Ability to communicate the benefits clearly and concisely.Strong presentation skills to effectively articulate complex technical concepts and solutions.Possess an inquisitive and demanding mindset, continuously seeking innovation and improvement.Priority Requirements (as many as possible):Solution Design: a. Experience in designing bottom-up solutions and evolving existing environments to meet evolving business needs.Replication design for secondary and DR sites, including estimating bandwidth and IP vs. FCIP replication requirements. b. Ability to analyze application requirements, system metrics, and business expectations to create streamlined solutions.Collection of performance requirements and design, estimation of performance characteristics based on disk selections and application requirements, IOPS vs. bandwidth requirements. c. Recognize customer capacity for change and create strategies to guide them through manageable stages towards the end goal.Compute:Experience with Lenovo x86 systems, with a focus on Enterprise and HPC systems.Experience with NVIDIA GPU, DPU, Software, and Cloud-based products.Storage:Experience with IBM Storage system design and implementation, including FlashSystems, Elastic Storage Systems (ESS), SAN Volume Controller (SVC), local and geographic mirroring, data replication, Spectrum Virtualize skills, and storage protection with Storage Insights Pro and SafeGuarded snapshots.Experience with NetApp system design and implementation.Knowledge of cloud-based storage, hybrid integration, and their value in solution design.Strong knowledge of Block, File, Optical, and Container storage and their strengths and weaknesses.SAN/Networking:Experience with Broadcom (Brocade) and Cisco Fibre Channel design and implementation.Experience with InfiniBand design and implementation.Experience with TCP/IP networking, including 25G, 100G, iSCSI, RoCE.Experience with high-performance (NVIDIA/Mellonox) design and implementation.Virtualization:Knowledge and working experience with IBM Power Virtualization, VMware, HyperV, and containerized virtualization engines with a focus on RedHat.High Performance Solutions:End-to-end understanding of the relationship between components and how to optimize them.Backup/Recovery/High Availability/Disaster Recovery:Experience in designing backup and recovery systems using IBM Spectrum Defender/Protect, Veeam, IBM PowerHA, VMware SRM, and other failover protection tools.Security:Knowledge and experience in data protection, including the use of immutable copies, air gapping backups, snapshots, and integration with Spectrum/Veeam.Designing ransomware protection solutions, including recovery requirements and processes.Nice to Have:Hybrid Cloud:Business analysis, planning, and design.ImplementationWe thank all interested applicants.
