A continued emphasis on the development of a representative workforce is one of Sask Polytech’s strategic priorities and, as an organization, we are making significant efforts to attract and retain Indigenous employees.Job Duties/Qualifications, Skills and Abilities(QSA)Job DutiesJob DutiesReporting to the Manager, Classroom Technology, Content and Media Production, the Team Lead is an experienced expert that provides leadership and direction to the team while also working as a functioning member of the team.The leadership duties of the Team Lead include operational management in regard to overseeing service failures, inventory control, ensuring security of data, monitoring adherence to policy, while designing, implementing, and maintaining matrices, processes, and overall best practices. They are responsible for regular reporting.The Team Lead will adopt best practices of project and change management while leading the team as they develop and maintain strong relationships with customers as well as their direct reports. They will be engaged in hiring, training, assigning work, and performance monitoring, while providing expertise to LT management on service delivery strategy and continual service improvement. They will recognize, analyze, and solve complex business issues and will translate business needs into technically innovative solutions.As a member of the Media Production Team, the position also performs the following duties:

  • Collaborate and communications within the teams, with managers, and with external stakeholders
  • Maintenance and logistics – coordinates teams and equipment to achieve the required maintenance plan goals
  • Responds to Help Desk assignments and resolve issues – receive calls from the Help Desk and work to resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Online Video Management System support- Operational management and maintenance of the Kaltura inline video management system
  • Oversee multimedia production and assure quality and effectiveness of the products, including pre-production site visits
  • Video and live streaming event production- including staging, lighting, recording of videos for course content and promotional use, as well as video postproduction including expertise in editing methods and procedures.
  • Audio production, recording, storage, and distribution, as well as post audio production including conditioning, storage, and distribution of audio clips used in promotional and course development activities
  • Photo and graphic production – coordination and operation of photography services including postproduction including conditioning, storage, and distribution of photo and graphics elements used in promotional and course development activities
  • Pod Cast Production – record discussions and announcements and produce as podcasts for streaming
  • Inventory Control – maintaining a comprehensive list of items that make up the Media Production Equipment inventory making sure to include upgrades to the system and maintenance
  • Introducing Polytech staff, instructors, SMEs and external presenters to the use of Production, Presentation and Recording equipment
  • Administration – documenting activity, financial records, expenses, and orders
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCESpecific AccountabilitiesDutiesRequired Qualifications, Skills and Abilities (QSA)
  • Diploma in Media Production or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Minimum 6 years of recent progressive experience in the Educational Technology industry specializing in multimedia production to produce multimedia enriched educational productions.
  • Demonstrated effective Project and Change management skills or training including effective organizational and time management skills. The ability to produce professional high-quality, high-volume work in time critical conditions with constant priority changes, and make accountable decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to schedule, motivate, and supervise staff, and resolve conflicts.
  • Demonstrated efficient and effective verbal, written, and listening communication and facilitation skills. Ability to present, interpret, summarize, and document information from various stakeholders for varying audiences establishing and sustaining strong customer relationships.
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional development through personally initiated lifelong learning and the ability to upgrade skills in order to adapt to changing technologies.
  • Expertise in producing, building and directing webinars and large-scale virtual meetings and events
  • Excellent analytical skills – experience and expertise in analyzing and solving issues related to multiple systems along with effective problem solving and decision-making skills in order to conduct detailed analysis and investigation to determine the correct course of action.
  • Demonstrated operational expertise of a variety of hardware ie., digital video components, digital still cameras, digital audio components, audio and video streaming components, interactive presentation components, lighting components and computer and mobile components.
  • Advanced analytical, problem solving, and trouble shooting skills, with a variety of media production hardware and software. Including software used for day-to-day office communication and function including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite. Software used for online course delivery ie., Brightspace, Kaltura Management Console. Basic Knowledge of HTML, streaming protocols and content management
