We work together with our ownership, communities, stakeholders and industry partners to strengthen Indigenous employee relationships.Job PurposeReporting to the General Manager, the Snowbird Aviation Services Assistant General Manager (AGM) holds a vital leadership position overseeing the operations of Snowbird Aviation Services, an independent aviation airport operations company that provides service to partner company, Rise Air, and other customers within the province of Saskatchewan. The Assistant General Manager will ensure that all tasks, processes, and procedures are conducted safely, in compliance with regulatory requirements, industry best practices and contractual obligations, while delivering operational and customer service excellence. Primary ResponsibilitiesLeadership

• Provide direct and indirect leadership to:
  • Direct reports.
  • Employees and contractors at Snowbird-owned aerodromes/airports.
  • Employees at contractor maintained and/or owned aerodromes/airports.
  • Snowbird Employees supporting contractor maintained and/or owned aerodromes/airports.
• Work with GM and Human Resources to ensure timely and effective recruiting, performance management, and payroll services of La Ronge, Stony Rapids, Wollaston Lake, Fond-du-Lac, and Buffalo Narrows bases and stations.
• In the absence of the General Manager, act in the capacity of general manager as needed to ensure the smooth operation of Snowbird Aviation Services.

Operations

• At assigned bases, ensure fuelling, de-icing, and passenger and aircraft servicing operations comply with CSA B836-14, applicable Transport Canada regulations, and customer and aerodrome policies.
• In cooperation with the GM, aerodrome operators, Rise Air, and other customers, develop, distribute, and update an emergency response/business continuity plan for assigned bases.
• Ensure the Safety Management System is used to identify and track safety hazards, promoting a non-punitive safety culture.
• Manage the regulatory and safety internal audit plan and cooperate with regulatory authorities and customers to facilitate external audits at assigned bases.
• As directed by the GM work with contractors and other customers, develop performance measurement standards metrics.

Budgeting and Cost Management

• Establish efficient and cost-effective work schedules for assigned stations/bases.
• Authorize expenses and the payment of invoices within approved policies and guidelines.
• Monitor and record operational and financial performance at assigned bases to ensure GM can accurately and timely report on Snowbird Aviation Services on a monthly and annual basis.
• Analyze expenditures against budget, align with GM on any necessary corrective action and execute.

QualificationsTypically, the knowledge and skills required for this position include post-secondary education in business administration or aviation and/or facilities management, one to three years #39; experience in an airport environment, and a minimum one years #39; supervisory experience. A combination of education and experience may be considered.Knowledge, skills, and abilities include:

• Willingness and capability to learn from experienced leaders and employees in order to grow knowledge, skills, and abilities in required areas.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a provincial Class 5 driver #39;s license and an airside vehicle operator permit (AVOP).
• Understanding of airline, aircraft, and ground handling procedures as they relate to aviation services.
• Maintain current knowledge of applicable Transport Canada rules, regulations, and policies.
• Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
• Sound problem solving, decision-making, analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.
• Ability to take initiative and ownership of projects and tasks and execute effectively and in a timely manner.
• Management skills, leadership qualities, and a hands-on, self-motivated, and demonstrated positive, can-do attitude.
• Effective people management skills with demonstrated ability to supervise, train and motivate.
• Effective time management skills with the ability to organize, multi-task and prioritize.
• Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Office applications and adept at learning software specific to company operations.

• Ladders, boom, forklift and other lift equipment.
• Other equipment as required.

Typical Physical and Cognitive Demands

• Able to lift 100 lbs. and carry out physically demanding tasks such as snow shoveling, and sidewalk sweeping.
• Able to safely move and provide services on facilities equipment and company vehicles.
• Required to complete some work on ladders and lift equipment.
• Works autonomously and/or alone with frequent travel to bases by ground/air.
• Typical hangar, office, and ramp environment.
• Able to work outdoors in extreme hot and cold temperatures whilst some of work is completed at a sit-down desk.
• Required to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends with long, sometimes irregular hours, and to be on-call as required.
• Able to prioritize and organize objectives and meet deadlines in a fast-paced office environment.
• Must quickly adapt to changing assignments.
• Required to act professionally and use mature judgment.
