Established in 1976 the Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies (SIIT) is a First Nation governed post-secondary institution. You can contribute to that success while building your career.Nature and ScopeThe Director, Financial Reporting is responsible for overseeing and managing SIIT #39;s budgeting processes and financial reporting functions. This position involves coordination and management of the annual budget cycle, ensuring the accuracy and compliance of financial reports, and providing financial analysis that supports decision-making and long-term planning. This position will positively promote and create an environment that demonstrates SIIT #39;s vision, mission, and mandate.General AccountabilityThe Director, Financial Reporting will be responsible for managing the Institute #39;s budgeting, financial analysis, and internal and external reporting functions, as well as providing financial planning, analysis, reporting and advisory services internally to the executive team and SIIT managers. The position #39;s primary responsibilities are to manage and direct budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and internal and external reporting functions. The incumbent will oversee the establishment of financial work plans, procedures, and reporting systems, and is responsible for supervision of the financial reporting team. The position works with highly sensitive and confidential information. The Director, Financial Reporting will balance tight deadlines and competing priorities, and the work environment requires constant monitoring, review, and approval of information to mitigate the risk of costly errors. The Director ensures that budgeting and reporting activities comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), as well as the legal and contractual requirements.
