Job Description

Under supervision of the Event Services Supervisor, this position provides leadership and direction to the Event Services Custodians to complete the setup and teardown of events; implements the details and requirements of the events, as provided by the Events Coordinator, Duty Manager, and the client.Typical Duties:

  1. Participates in and ensures that the room setup is complete according to event detail sheets in a timely manner. Assigns and directs the Event Services setup staff to ensure the room set-ups are complete for the client. Performs final review of the room setup to ensure accuracy.
  2. Communicates with the Duty Manager or the client throughout the event, ensuring all needs are met.
  3. Ensures the room teardown is completed in a timely manner.
  4. Amends setup sheets through consultation with Event Coordinator, Duty Manager and the client or through attendance at weekly events meetings.
  5. Provides direction to the Event Services cleaning staff, as required.
  6. Communicates, orally and in writing, with the next shift to ensure tasks are completed.
  7. Ensures electronic and printed signage are maintained and in place for the building.
  8. Responds to radio calls.
  9. Fills last minute requirements for staffing.
Performs other related duties as assignedKnowledge, Abilities and Skills:
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally, in writing and electronically, with the public and other staff.
  • Ability to deal courteously and tactfully with the public and other employees.
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to operate mechanical equipment.
  • Physical ability to perform the assigned duties.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
