Job Description

In addition, Applied provides engineering, design and systems integration for industrial, fluid power, and flow control applications, as well as customized mechanical, fabricated rubber, fluid power, and flow control shop services. _Applied Industrial Technologies LP is an extensive network of industrial distribution facilities located throughout Canada.We are currently seeking and have an immediate opening for a qualified and motivated individual to fill the position of of Steel Fabricator / Hydraulic Assembler in our Saskatoon, SK shop. Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up components for welding/fabrication as per standard specifications.
  • Weld different metals and alloys in various positions (carbon and stainless steel).
  • Weld/fabricate a variety of equipment and components for hydraulic power units.
  • Determine appropriate welding equipment or procedures based on individual job requirements.
  • Read and understand production drawings, blueprints, work orders and other written instructions.
  • Operate power tools and general welding equipment - grinders, gouging and cutting equipment.
  • Assemble hydraulic components as required – millwright experience an asset.
  • Paint – spray painting of completed units.
  • Maintenance and use of equipment that does not compromise safety.
  • Quality - Testing and inspection of welds and hydraulic testing of completed units.
  • Participate and comply with all required Healthamp; Safety Programs and training.
  • Work safely, lead by example and contribute to Applied’s corporately sponsored safety program.
  • Communicate appropriately, confidently and professionally to colleagues and management.
  • Other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years of experience within an industrial setting is required.
  • Welding certification or Fabrication certification is required, indentured apprentices’ will be considered.
  • Millwright experience is considered an asset.
  • Painting with spray system experience an asset.
  • Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
  • Mechanical aptitude, experience or certification in other trades an asset.
  • Self motivated, organized and able to work independently.
  • Able to work in a team environment and utilize all available resources.
  • Excellent communication skills – both oral and written.
  • Desire to succeed and grow within the organization.
  • Previous supervisory experience will be considered an asset.
