Job Description

Peter Lucas Project Management is a group of energetic and collaborative problem-solvers. We are currently seeking an Automation Specialist to join our team full-time, in an on-site secondment position in the mining sector.What You’ll Do:

  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and technical teams to retrofit Tele-Remote and automation technologies onto mobile mining equipment.
  • Troubleshoot control systems and resolve technical issues impacting mining unit performance.
  • Work closely with the maintenance team to enhance the reliability and maintainability of both mining units and the Tele-Remote system.
  • Support the integration and continuous improvement of automation solutions across the site.
This is an on-site Monday to Thursday 10-hour day role, and you must be willing to commute.We appreciate the interest of all applicants; however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.   • Strong communication and collaboration skills with a proven ability to work across disciplines—maintenance, operators, engineers—to gather input, explain technical concepts, and develop practical, shared solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with Rockwell Automation products (installation and troubleshooting).
  • Technical expertise in control systems, power systems, and industrial networking.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining automation technologies in industrial environments.
  • A passion for innovation and problem-solving, with a focus on long-term maintainability, ease of training, and user satisfaction.
  • Solid understanding of electrical codes, best practices, and the ability to interpret technical schematics.
  • Mining and/or heavy industrial experience is a strong asset.
