While theorganization has evolved over the years, its commitment to animal welfare, adoption,education, and advocacy remains steadfast – fostering a more compassionate world forvulnerable animals in our community.As a leader in responsible pet ownership education and animal welfare advocacy, theSaskatoon SPCA spearheads community-driven initiatives that support both pets andtheir owners. Through a comprehensive range of services, the Saskatoon SPCA worksto ensure that every animal has the opportunity for a second chance at life in a lovinghome while empowering the community with the knowledge and resources needed toprovide responsible care.The Saskatoon SPCA provides the following services to support pets and pet owners inthe community:- Adoption Services – Providing safe shelter, sustenance, health care (includingvaccinations and spay/neuter surgeries) to abandoned, surrendered, orneglected animals in our care.- Accessible Training Programs – Training classes are designed to help petowners build strong, positive relationships via certified professional dog trainerswho use scientifically backed positive reinforcement methods,- Educationamp; Community Outreach – Promoting responsible pet ownership,humane treatment, and the benefits of adoption while actively addressing petoverpopulation through awareness campaigns, spay/neuter advocacy, andcommunity engagement initiatives.- Foster and Volunteer Opportunities – Engaging the community by providingmeaningful opportunities for individuals to support animal care and welfarethrough hands-on involvement, fostering, shelter support, advocacy, andoutreach initiatives.About the Executive DirectorWe are seeking a passionate, visionary, and strategic Executive Director to lead ourorganization into the next chapter of growth and success. The Executive Director willplay a key role in expanding education and advocacy for the humane treatment ofanimals, enhancing donor and corporate sponsorship engagement to increase revenue,strengthening financial sustainability through innovative fundraising and partnerships,and leading a dedicated team of professionals and volunteers.Key Responsibilities:- Leadership and Vision: Provide overall leadership for the SPCA, ensuringalignment with the mission, vision, and core values. Collaborate with the Board ofDirectors to develop and implement a strategic plan for organizational growth andimpact.- Advocacyamp; Policy Influence: Develop relationships with key decision makersand advocate for local and provincial policies that improve animal welfare.- Financial Management: Oversee the financial health of the organization,including budgeting, financial planning, and ensuring sustainability throughdiversified funding streams. Lead fundraising efforts and build relationships withdonors, foundations, and sponsors.- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and support a passionate team, promotingprofessional development and a positive organizational culture. Foster acollaborative work environment that encourages innovation and teamwork.- Programs and Operations: Oversee the operational effectiveness of SPCAprograms and services, ensuring they are delivered in a cost-effective and high-quality manner. Develop and implement new initiatives that advance animalwelfare.- Community Engagement: Serve as the primary spokesperson for theorganization, representing the SPCA at public events, with stakeholders, andwithin the community. Build and maintain relationships with partners, funders,community leaders, and government agencies.- Crisis Managementamp; Risk Mitigation: As a non-profit leader, create acomprehensive crisis management plan and develop a risk mitigation frameworkfor the organization.- Board Collaboration: Work closely with the Board of Directors to ensureeffective governance, regular communication, and the achievement of strategicgoals.
