Job Description

Sault Ste. Marie, ONPRIMARY PURPOSE:To safely and efficiently load/unload trucks and rail cars and complete other shipping duties while providing excellent internal/external customer service.description of Essential duties:

  • Safely load trucks and rail
  • Tarp flat cars
  • Prepare shipping paperwork
  • Area housekeeping
  • Route rail cars on CN website
  • Notify Algoma for rail switches
Key expectations supporting organizational structure:
  • Participate in Shipping meetings
  • Participates in mill TMS Roles & activities.
key safety/housekeeping reponsibilities:
  • Participates in housekeeping and cleanliness for maintenance areas.
  • Stays current in Area Specific Orientations, Lockout Certification, Safety Quizes & other training that is specific to their role.
Required knowledge, skills and abilities:
  • Minimum high school diploma
  • Possess a current internal forklift certification
  • Proficient forklift operator
  • Good physical condition
  • Team player
  • Ability to work rotating days and afternoon shifts
  • Experience and/or interest in shipping
  • Warehouse layout and storage procedure knowledge
  • Self-motivated
  • Shipping experience is a plus
  • Willing to learn all roles in the shipping area
  • Willing to work overtime when required
