Job Description

Partner Staffing is currently working with our client to find a Senior Biologist for their Team, based out of their Calgary, Alberta office.Key Responsibilities

  • Determine habitat suitability and provide mitigate measures for use during construction
  • Classify watercourses under the Water Act COPs and Public Lands Act
  • Prepare federal and provincial regulatory notifications and approval applications
  • Manage project budgets, timelines and deliverables
  • Implement corporate and client safety programs
  • Ensure that project requirements are met in a timely and effective manner
  • Provide assistance to senior staff and train junior staff, as required
Requirements
  • Must possess a post-secondary degree in biological sciences, a technical diploma in biological sciences, or educational equivalencies
  • Must have a designation of professional biologist (P.Bio)
  • Possesses a minimum of 7 years of related experience
  • Advanced working knowledge of provincial and federal wildlife acts
  • Willingness to travel and be in the field for 20% or less
  • Excellent communication, writing, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and database entry
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Good physical health and ability to work outdoors in varying conditions
  • Willingness to work within a team environment
  • Highly organized and can prioritize multiple tasksPreference will be given to candidates with experience in construction monitoring, inspection, and/or wetland assessments.
