Job Description

Job DescriptionThis posting is for up to 8 Hourly positionsAs an Arena Operator I, you will serve and interact with guests, as well as work closely with the Arena Operations team to ensure facilities are clean and safe for guests and staff.The worksite locations for this competition are: Ardrossan Recreation Complex, Moyer Recreation Centre, Strathcona Olympiette Centre, and Glen Allan Recreation Complex.Responsibilities

  • Provide the highest level of guest service to create a seamless, positive guest experience
  • Interact and build relationships with guests and other staff; provide options and solutions for guest requests
  • Set-up recreational facilities for guests, bookings, and special events
  • Assist the Arena Operator II and III’s to ensure the arena surfaces are well maintained
  • Assist in overall facility operations, including completing assigned daily, weekly or monthly cleaning and regular maintenance
  • Support facilities needs; snow removal, equipment set up and take down, and special event support
Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of facility programs and activities, and day-to-day facility operations
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent customer services skills and the ability to positively interact with facility guests using strong conflict resolution skills
Qualifications
  • Minimum completion of Grade 10
  • Current Standard First Aid certification is an asset
  • Willingness to work varying shifts and hours, including evenings and weekends
Conditions of Employment
  • In accordance with the Employee COVID-19 Vaccination Directive and Procedure, all employees of Strathcona County are required to be fully vaccinated and provide proof of vaccination or will be required to participate in a rapid testing program
  • Obtain a current and valid Standard First Aid certification prior to the completion of training
  • Submission of Satisfactory Criminal Record Check
