Job Description

Note: Preference will be given to local Edmonton area candidates. Out of country applicants will not be considered.Responsibilities:
  • Provide guidance and leadership to claims staff.
  • Manage service levels by organizing, distributing, monitoring work flow and setting priorities.
  • Assist in developing, monitoring and enforcing claims policies and procedures.
  • Audit and maintain cost control over claims expenses.
  • Conduct or contribute to employee development, and employee performance management through coaching and following up on the development of technical competencies.
  • Conduct periodic review of claims files and coach team to strive for continuous improvement and development by setting and tracking individual and team performance objectives.
  • Provide direction and leadership in areas such as: liability determination, investigation, policy interpretation, settlement negotiations and establishing reserves for claims.
  • As required, carry out the duties and responsibilities as described in the Claims Adjuster job description.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience & Qualifications:
  • University degree or Risk Management diploma preferred.
  • FCIP or CIP / CAIB with commitment to continue relevant industry education.
  • 5 + years of insurance adjusting experience in a senior role covering automobile, personal and commercial property insurance.
  • Superior customer service skills including problem solving, empathy and concern for our customers.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Excellent investigative and analytical skills.
  • Highly proficient time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to coach, guide, and positively motivate employees.
  • Excellent knowledge of automobile, personal property and commercial policies.
  • Detail oriented with a critical degree of accuracy regarding data entry.
  • Exceptional advanced negotiation skills.
