Located in a residential house in the Brentwood area of Sherwood Park, near Strathcona County bus routes. Current resident is a sociable autistic male (49 years old) with no problem behaviours, but needs walking assistance and partial use of walker or wheelchair. He requires 24 hours personal attention with minor medical needs, and currently searching for other sharing roommates.Transportation/Travel Information: : Due to the need to take the disabled on outings and to purchase supplies for the residence, the use of at least part-time personal transport is essential. For other occasions, the home is located near bus lines (but personal transport would be easier if living outside Sherwood Park), valid drivers license and personal transportation is required for emergencies and outings (driveway and garage parking). Km rate paid for outings with client.Goals: Providing support to individuals and the other team members - including support with day to day living skills both inside and outside the home, assist and encourage recreational and career/volunteer pursuits. Providing human services to disabled individuals and will involve progressively increasing responsibilities. Assisting individuals to develop life skills in home environment and meaningful relationships / connections in the community, including participation in outside activities on a regular basis.Duties: As Team Leader: Supervise, meet and train staff; to arrange schedules and training; help coordinate payroll and staffing, participate in household finances and shopping; write reports where required; and other attention to health and medical needs of the individual. Arrange and participate in community outings with individuals. Help improve FMS system and other TL duties as required.As CRW-1: Assist individuals in personal care and daily living duties, including help with cooking, eating, dressing, bathing and personal hygiene, shopping. Attention to health and medical needs of the individual. Personal needs as required (bathing and clothing clients). Providing medications following a regular schedule, and as needed.Organize and actively participate in outings with individuals in community. Regular recordkeeping, correct and report inventory and home needs, other CRW-1 duties as required.Salary: PDD maximum hourly (depending on qualifications and experience to $18.40 for CRW-1 and $27.55 for Team Leader; $717 / week (plus vacation pay)Benefits: · Casual Dress. Other equivalencies will be considered.Credentials (certificates, licenses, courses, etc.): Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate, First Aid Certificate. Medical Administration Certificate. Courses completed or planned - Continuing Care Assistant certification. Non-Violent Crisis Management. Dedication to continuous learning an asset.Experience: Caring attitude. Previous disabled caregiving experience, particularly dealing with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
