Job Description

BIS Safety Software is a fast-paced, high-growth organization providing leading software for the safety industry. We are expanding and are looking to add an experienced IT professional to join our team.This is an in-person position in our Sherwood Park, Alberta office.The successful applicant will be responsible for for managing and maintaining the hardware and software infrastructure used by our team, making sure everything runs smoothly as we continue to grow, and ensuring our hardware remains secure.The ideal candidate for this position will:

  • Have extensive hardware and software experience
  • Be knowledgeable in an Active Directory environment
  • Demonstrate strong troubleshooting abilities
  • Possess significant knowledge of the Microsoft environment, including SharePoint and Office 365
  • Possess the ability to identify and communicate technical problems and generate solutions
  • Have a professional and positive attitude with a solution-based approach to challenges
  • Enjoy working with people to educate them and resolve their technical problems
  • Find effective ways to resolve technical issues both in-person and remotely
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
  • Managing and maintaining our inhouse technology, including our internal server and routers
  • Setting up all company laptops and cellphones
  • Managing our online phone system, including answering questions and resolving issues for our team, as well as optimizing and configuring it to provide maximum benefit to the company
  • Suggesting and implementing cybersecurity procedures to minimize company risk and exposure
  • Installing and scheduling hardware and software upgrades for all team members
  • Providing suggestions regarding hardware and software changes, purchases, and decommissioning
  • Troubleshooting problems, answering team member questions, and increasing overall operational efficiency
  • Managing data backup and other systems to minimize company loss
  • Recommending information technology strategies inline with organizational goals
  • Assisting in the setup and management of SharePoint and Microsoft 365 for all team members
  • Developing and maintaining maintenance and decommissioning programs for hardware and software
  • Managing the tracking and minimizing the loss of all company technical assets
Qualifications:
  • Broad understanding of computer operating systems, software, hardware and networking
  • Degree or diploma in Information Technology
  • Minimum of 2 years experience working in an IT role
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Active Directory
