Job Description

BIS Safety Software is a fast-paced, high-growth organization providing leading software for the safety industry. We are expanding our team and seeking an experienced, full-time, editor/writer. The successful applicant will be responsible for a variety of writing and editing tasks including, but not limited to, technical writing and editing for online course voice-over scripts and materials.The ideal candidate for this position:

  • Is an exceptionally strong written communicator
  • Possesses proven substantive, copy, and stylistic editing skills
  • Enjoys building, implementing, and ensuring compliance with style guides and standards
  • Naturally pays what can be described by some as excruciating attention to detail
  • Is extremely well-organized and client- and solution-focused
  • Knows how to use key editing features of Word to compare documents, track changes, and mark comments
  • Is extremely adept at maintaining document version control
  • Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and thrives on task diversity
  • Is extremely self-motivated with little need for direct supervision or management
  • Has a positive attitude and loves to share ideas for improvement
  • Displays exceptional integrity, compassion, and humility in all that they do
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
  • Editing/writing/developing assets for online courses including, but not limited to, voice-over scripts, storyboards, shot lists, print materials, and exam questions
  • Editing and writing a variety of company communications and marketing materials, such as website copy, blogs, press releases, corporate communications, external client communications, magazine articles, produce brochures, training manuals, and training videos
  • Completing substantive, stylistic, and copyediting
  • Researching, as required, to produce written materials
  • Collaborating with clients as well as our internal design and leadership teams to ensure quality and accurate deliverables
  • Following/creating/updating internal style guides
Qualifications
  • Proven editing and writing experience
  • Strong computer skills including above average working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite
Assets
  • Experience in online course development/instructional design
  • French and/or Spanish language skills
