Your Opportunity:This opportunity is with the Strathcona Community Hospital, Emergency Department. The facility offers a 24/7 Emergency Department and a variety of Ambulatory, Laboratory, and Diagnostic Imaging services. An LPN/Orthopaedic Technician delivers quality nursing care to patients within the Emergency Department. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) general cast duties, set up and application of traction, maintaining and removal of traction. Effective teaching to orthopedic patients in care, use of casts and orthopedic appliances, and all other general LPN duties related to this area.Description:As an Orthopaedic Technician (Ortho Tech), you will apply, adjust, and remove casts, splints and traction equipment utilized in the care of orthopaedic patients (clients, residents). You will observe, monitor, report and document changes in the patients physical, mental and emotional state, while providing safe and effective, quality care. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.
