Job DescriptionThis posting is for multiple, Full-time and Part-time seasonal positionsRecreation, Parks and Culture with Transportation and Agriculture Services are looking to hire for the 2022 summer season.Labourer I & IIThe Labourer positions contribute to the maintenance and improvement of outdoor recreational opportunities through the performance of manual labour and tasks.The RPC Labourers support Broadmoor Public Golf Course, turf development and maintenance, feature sports fields, horticulture and urban forestry, playground construction and maintenance, and weed control within Strathcona County.The Agriculture Services Labourers will operate equipment for herbicide application, maintain gardens, and clear woody vegetation in compliance with the Rural Roadside Vegetation Control Program.For additional information on operations, responsibilities, skills & abilities and qualifications, please click Seasonal Employment OpportunitiesEquipment Operator I and IIThe Equipment Operators contribute to the maintenance and improvement of outdoor recreational areas by safely operating a variety of self-propelled small equipment, perform manual labour and train other staff in the safe operation of equipment.The RPC Equipment Operators perform work in areas such as; turf development and maintenance, horticulture, urban forestry, playground construction and maintenance and weed control within Strathcona County.The Agriculture Equipment Operators may mow all rural roadside ditches and maintain County owned lands.For additional information on operations, responsibilities, skills & abilities and qualifications, please click Seasonal Employment OpportunitiesConditions of Employment

  • Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s licence and submission of a 5-year Driver’s Abstract with less than 7 demerits
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification required prior to start date
  • Ability and willingness to perform various types of physical labour including moderate to heavy lifting (up to 23 kilograms), standing, bending, shoveling, etc.
  • Ability and willingness to perform duties in inclement and adverse weather conditions
Pay range
  • Labourer I $20.93 to $23.07 per hour
  • Labourer II $23.50 to $26.27 per hour
  • Equipment Operator $28.04 to $29.20 per hour
  • Equipment Operator $31.62 to $32.94 per hour
