Job Description

Apex Geomatics is looking for a Survey Foreman to work out of our Sherwood Park office immediately!

We are looking for an multi functional, highly skilled surveyor with a strong work ethic and ready to step up to the challenge. The ideal candidate is able to grab the RTK and topo one day, then use the total station to do high precision layout the next day. Advanced Drone pilots and 3D scanning experience will be highly considered. You will work closely with our project management team and drafters on a regular basis as we take on new and exciting projects in 2023!Apex is a proud indigenous-owned survey company operating out of Sherwood Park, AB.   • Construction layout and as-builts utilizing Total Station and GPS.
  • Inspect, operate and maintain survey equipment, tools and vehicles.
  • Record measurements and other information related to the survey work.
  • Complete daily field notes, sketches and reports according to job specifications and Apex operational procedures.
  • Full compliance and active participation in Apex Geomatics’ Health and Safety Program.
  • Adherence with quality assurance procedures and quality control practices.
  • Provide mentorship and training to assist with subordinate’s professional development.
  • Liaise with client representatives to coordinate survey work, priorities and deliverables.
  • Effective communication and flow of information from field to office.
  • As a representative of Apex Geomatics, you are to conduct yourself with a professional, cordial attitude with clients.
Qualifications:
  • Diploma in Geomatics Technology or equivalent amount of related experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Surveyor, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Proficient use and knowledge of Trimble RTK, Robotic Total Stations and related software.
  • Technical competence and a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to process field data and day to day administrative tasks.
  • Eagerness and willingness to learn new technical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proven ability to collaborate with team members.
  • Valid Driver’s License and clean Driver’s Abstract.
  • CSTS 2020 certificate required.
  • Line Locating and Advanced UAV Pilot certifications are considered an asset.
  • Experience with Civil 3D and Trimble Business Centre are also considered an asset.
  • This is a safety sensitive position and will be subject to pre-assess drug and alcohol screening.
  • Double Covid-19 Vaccination as per client requirements is required.
