The Division prides itself on providing staff and students with the tools to achieve success by offering dynamic programming, up-to-date resources and practical professional learning opportunities.EIPS is recruiting a full-time Systems Analyst IV (Applications Analyst) for our Information Technologies department (IT).Our Information Technologies department is located at our Central Office in Sherwood Park.Commencing June 6, 202237.5 hours per week (7.5 hours per day)Open to Internal and External ApplicantsElk Island Public Schools provides a comprehensive benefits package to all permanent employeesKEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESUnder the primary direction of the Assistant Director of Data Systems, Information Technologies (IT), you will work in collaboration with central office department staff and school staff and support them in the use of student and business information systems, analyze the business requirements of various working groups, and you will identify and execute potential solutions in alignment with division goals.Projects and Cyclical MaintenanceAs an Applications Analyst, you will be responsible for various projects throughout their lifecycle:Gathering requirements, analyzing inputs and designing, developing, testing, implementing, documenting and maintaining application solutions, such as electronic forms platforms, to meet business requirementsIdentify, validate, create, and promote compliance with business rules to enhance the level of service or functionality of the business systemCreate custom applications or customizations in order to simplify the usability of these business systems to increase the productivity of the business system usersRegularly review the state of and use cases for existing applications, and make improvementsUse software tools or programs to extract and analyze or import/export dataWork with external vendors and internal departments to manage, install and maintain hardware and software upgrades to the business systemCoordinate testing of new updates/upgrades, test system portions of the updates and liaise with software companies to correct issuesSupportLeveraging your application development and support background, you will provide support to the Information Technologies department and our end-users by:Troubleshooting application-related problems in a timely mannerLog system service requests in the endorsed ITSM system, including support documentationFamiliarizing staff with documented issues and workaroundsAnalyzing, creating, modifying, and repairing reports or queries to meet business needsWorking to prevent and minimize application downtimeMonitoring designated applicationsTaking corrective action and recommending/executing strategies to prevent recurrent issuesTraining and DocumentationTraining and documentation will be another key aspect of your role.
