Job Description

Posting No.: C2022-23 Posting Date: October 7, 2022Position Title: Clinician – Telemedicine ServicesRate of Pay: $33.97 - $41.12Position Status: Full TimeResponsibilitiesThe primary responsibility will be to provide clinical and related services to people aged 16 and older with mental healthconcerns. Supports the development of evidence-based best practice clinical service excellence and acts as a liaison andconsultant to other health care facilities/organizations, physicians, caregivers and co-workers regarding patient care, healthservices, professional practice and education. While functioning as a member of a community-based interdisciplinary teamcontributing appropriate discipline specific knowledge and skills. Duties include:

  • Maintain a clinical caseload
  • Act as the organization’s point of contact for clinical telemedicine and responsible for the delivery of high quality
telemedicine services within the agency
  • Developing expertise in the use and care of the telemedicine equipment and troubleshooting technical problems
  • Act as liaison/point of contact with OTN: updates for network, policies, contact information etc. and disseminate
internally (as necessary)
  • Complete client centered physical, functional, and psychiatric assessments, provide consultation, treatment, follow
up and discharge planning as it relates to a client being served by the telemedicine program; review and evaluate thetreatment and ongoing care in consultation with client and caregiver/care provider
  • Monitor treatment modalities of efficacy and adverse reactions including pharmacological and non-pharmacological
interventions
  • Monitor and document client’s progress and response to therapeutic interventions; facilitate information flow in the
consultation process to physicians and community partners
  • Education and maintenance support of OTN equipment
  • Participates in team activities related to clinical care and team function, including OTN training sessions, OTN site
readiness assessments, and OTN regional telemedicine conference meetings and communities of practice, etc.
  • Participates in activities related to program/organizational development, community/client education, relevant
statistical data gathering
  • Participates in research within scope
  • Involved in group or other treatment modalities as appropriate to patient population and skill level
  • Provide consultation and support in relation the mental health and addictions issues to individuals, health
professionals, agencies, and community groups
  • Supports, precepts, and aids colleagues, students and others to provide evidence-based best practice clinical service
excellence
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Member in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario with a baccalaureate level of post-secondary
education in Nursing;
  • Post graduate certificate in psychiatric nursing preferred
  • Minimum 3 years recent related clinical experience
  • Demonstrated understanding of The Mental Health Act of Ontario
  • Demonstrated sound knowledge and understanding of community mental health client service needs and treatment
modalities
  • Demonstrated excellent clinical acumen, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively
  • A valid driver’s license.
