Job Description

Background & Purpose of the JobWe are looking for Machine Operators at our Ice Cream Manufacturing factory in Simcoe, Ontario. Our factory produces brand names such as Breyers, Ben & Jerrys, Magnum, Klondike, Popsicle, and Walls!Who You Are & What You’ll Do

  • Set up machine for production including assembling various parts of machine, assemble necessary ingredients, sanitize lines, and adjust machine to formula specifications (following SOP’s)
  • Comply with all quality and GMP requirements, including completing paperwork documentation
  • Safety – Working knowledge of the workplace and the hazards within it. Utilize appropriate safety and environmental procedures to ensure a safe working environment for the whole line
  • Monitor equipment for malfunctions, solving minor problems without assistance and eliminating potential threats to production
  • Communicate effectively with Supervisors and maintenance personnel regarding recurring problems and needs for repair.
  • Quality - Ensure that all aspects of Quality within the area of responsibility are in accordance with local Quality procedures to protect and promote the brand and product
  • Conduct CIL inspections as per standard outlined for the work area
  • Perform line washes/changeovers per the line SOP and SSOPs
  • Follow work procedures for monitoring product specifications such as weight, size, speed, code dates, CCPs, etc
What You’ll Need To Succeed:
  • Must be flexible, able to work all shifts to accommodate factory schedules and training
  • Passing score on Operator Testing – literacy, math and technical aptitude assessment
  • High School Diploma required
  • Previous factory experience is an asset
  • Ability to display problem solving, troubleshooting and decision-making skills
  • Must be computer literate –read PLC panels, data input
  • Must be a good team player capable of working within a highly effective team; responsible, supportive and able to communicate
  • Employment is conditional upon obtaining a satisfactory result of a criminal background check
