Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:For immediate hiring. Must be available for Fridays to Sundays, 7am to 3pm, 24 hours/week. On call availability would be appreciated. Located at 20 Nelson Drive, Spruce Grove. Fifteen minutes west of Edmonton.GUEST SERVICE ASSOCIATE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Customer service and hospitality minded with potential and current guests
  • Team player with co-workers and management
  • Register guests and assigns rooms. Accommodates special requests whenever possible.
  • Assists in preregistration and blocking of rooms for reservations.
  • Thoroughly understand and adheres to proper credit, debit, and cash handling policies and procedures.
  • Understands room status and room status tracking.
  • Knows hotel features, room locations, types of rooms available, and room rates.
  • Must be sales-minded and positive. Presents options and alternatives to guests and offers assistance in making choices.
  • Coordinates room status updates with the housekeeping department by notification housekeeping of all check outs, late checkouts, early check-ins, special requests, and day use rooms.
  • Effective handling of reservations procedures ie. In making them, modifications if needed, and cancellations.
  • Proficient in computer programs, Windows based operating systems.
  • Process guest check-ins and check-outs.
  • Performing cashier related functions like posting charges to guest accounts, billing, and finalizing payment.
  • Has proper telephone etiquette and skills on a switchboard phone.
  • Reports any unusual occurrences or requests to the manager or colleagues.
  • Knows all safety and emergency procedures. Is aware of accident prevention policies, and monitoring of hotel safety.
  • Maintains the cleanliness and neatness of the front desk area, lobby, and breakfast room.
  • Assist in light stocking of hotel supplies in the backrooms.
PREREQUISITES:Education: High school graduate or greater. Must have good and clear command of English. Good understanding of computer programs, organizational skills, and monetary transactions.Experience: Previous hotel-related experience desired, or customer service/hospitality experience.Physical: Requires typing, standing, and occasional lifting of around 15lbs.Accepting resumes only.
