The incumbent will assist Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) and Social Planning with program delivery and administration to support identified needs in the community. This position provides the opportunity to work with registered social work and social planning professionals who will support your development through coaching and mentoring your skills by working in a collaborative and high-performing team environment. The Summer Program Animator may be required to work some evenings and weekends. This position may be required to work in several different physical locations in Spruce Grove and surrounding communities. This position reports to FCSS Program Supervisor.Responsibilities:Program Support and FacilitationSupport ongoing program logistics including scheduling, ensuring that all necessary supplies or equipment are available, as required, amongst supporting any other identified logistical responsibilities.Provide front-line support to programs, including direct interaction with and/or facilitation of programming, including relevant administration duties.Create an active and enjoyable environment for program participants which may include children, youth, families, seniors and community members.Program Planning and DevelopmentParticipate in the planning and development of short-term programming for targeted demographics based on identified areas of need.Support leveraging of partnerships including working alongside other City staff, departments, and community agencies in areas of program planning and development, where applicable.Support adjustment/adaptation of implemented or upcoming programs, in response to changing community needs.Role Model for Positive Social ValuesBuild positive meaningful relationships with program participants in the context of program purpose.Maintain effective professional boundaries with program participants.Maintain open communication with reporting supervisor and other city representatives involved in programming, as it relates to participants.Information and Referral/AdministrationGreet, register and announce visitors attending meetings or events.Assist in answering the phones.Accurately assess clients’ needs and provide thorough, appropriate, and helpful referrals to address those needs, with support or direction as required.Qualifications:Enrollment in a post-secondary institution in a related field such as social work, education, or other related social sciences/human services field.Minimum 1 (one) year of some front-line and/or program delivery experienceIf you require assistance applying to this job, please contact our support staff and refer to job number: J0522-0521.Quick Apply
