EDUCATION ASSISTANT – SPECIAL EDUCATION (Student Specific 1) CUPE Competition No. 5405EDUCATION ASSISTANT – SUPERVISIONLocation: District – South Valleycliffe Elementary SchoolTemporary: Immediately to June 29, 2023Hours: 4.5 hours per day, for all days school is in session (Student Specific 1) 1.0 hours per day, for all days school is in session (Supervision)Rate of Pay: $28.32/hour (Student Specific 1) $25.42/hour (Supervision)Duties & Responsibilities:Under the direction of the Principal(s) and the general supervision of the Classroom Teacher(s), provides assistance to students who have physical disabilities, chronic health impairments, intellectual disabilities and/or social, emotional and behavioural problems as designated by the Director of Instruction, while supporting the achievement of stated programs goals and objectives. Supervision of a designated area either inside or outside the school, before, during and/or after school as defined by the terms of the assignment.Qualifications:Completion of Grade 12 plus a special program and over six (6) months up to and including one (1) year’s related experience. A special program would be the Capilano University Education Assistant Program. Valid Class 5 B.C. Driver’s License. Knowledge of basic First Aid.
