Learn about what we do from our current and upcoming projects here.About the Role:Axiom Builders is looking for a Construction Safety Officer (CSO) to join our construction professionals in sunny Squamish, BC.Seeking a safety expert monitor the site-specific safety plan across the job site to ensure compliance, address any concerns, and implement solutions in alignment with Axiom’s standard of safety, this role would be required to evaluate and monitor health and safety hazards, while developing strategies to control risks on the jobsites.Working closely with the Regional Safety Managers and Site Superintendents, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Promote a culture of job site safety, where safety is everyone’s responsibility;
• Actively conduct site safety inspections to enforce preventative measures;
• Conduct site specific health, safety & environmental orientations for all new site workers and visitors;
• Provide the administration of First Aid to injured workers as incidents arise and record and investigate incidents to determine their causes;
• Aid in supporting injured workers through the assignment of modified duties;
• Support the preparation of project safety documentation, including safe work procedures, hazard assessments, and the provision of training and awareness to workers relative to these processes.

By leveraging your extensive background in health and safety, you are able to ensure safety compliance in all areas of the construction process.Skills and Requirements

• A minimum of at least two (2) years of experience in industrial, commercial or residential high-rise construction safety;
• Valid Level-2 or Level-3 or Occupational First Aid certificate;
• NCSO or similar designation;
• Solid understanding of WSBC OH&S regulations;
• Experience with operating a computer and Microsoft Office suite of applications (Outlook Email, MS Word, Excel);
• Sound interpersonal (written/verbal) skills with the ability to handle high pressure situations in a professional manner.
• Able and available to travel to Squamish daily, if not already located in the region.
