From lunchroom banter to problem-solving debates, we genuinely enjoy each other’s company and respect each other’s skills.Position ScopeThis is a position for a Maintenance Planner with 5+ years planning experience in an industrial plant maintenance environment. The ideal candidate will also have experience working as an Inter-Provincial Red Seal maintenance technician or similar hands-on experience.As Maintenance Planner you will coordinate the plant maintenance schedule to optimize uptime whilst maintaining asset integrity. You will work with a range of stakeholders in the Production, Maintenance and Process Engineering teams to achieve this. You will coordinate resource with the Maintenance Supervisors and lead Work Order assignment/completionResponsibilities

  • Responsible for planning the daily/weekly/monthly maintenance schedule across all trades using the Fiix Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS); publishing the schedule and allocating resources.
  • Collaborate with the Maintenance and Production teams to prioritize, schedule and resource reactive maintenance tasks in order to maintain plant output.
  • Confirm with the duty Operations Supervisors that equipment has been shut down, locked out and bump tested before maintenance work begins. Inform the duty Operations Supervisor when maintenance tasks are complete and equipment is ready to return to service.
  • Coordinate with the Purchasing team to ensure that required parts, tools, contractors and equipment are available for scheduled maintenance tasks.
  • Plan annual plant turnarounds, scope resource requirements and schedule/coordinate internal and external resources to execute on time and budget.
  • Administer Work Order assignment, completion and reporting; ensuring that all required information is provided in order to maintain integrity of availability and reliability data.
  • Use the Fiix Computerized Maintenance Management System to prepare management reports detailing reliability, availability, completion rate, labour hours, backlog and other relevant Key Performance Indicators.
  • Identify, capture and communicate lessons learned and implement solutions where appropriate.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Education: Degree or diploma in a technical field or possess a valid Inter-Provincial trade certification in a related field.
  • Experience: More than Five (5+) years of as a maintenance technician in a plant maintenance environment, and previous maintenance planner experience would beneficial.
  • Previous experience working with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) is a necessity.
  • Strong understanding of maintenance business processes.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to assess and prioritize emerging issues in a high pressure environment.
  • Desirable – project management skills as they relate to planning and executing plant turnarounds.
  • Enjoys working in a fast paced environment.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Safety
  • Champion a positive safety culture within the Maintenance Team.
  • Maintain the Innovation Plant and associated benchtop/pilot equipment in a safe condition in line with all applicable regulations.
  • Identify, report and resolve unsafe conditions, processes or actions within the workplace.
  • Ensure that all safety related incidents, accidents and near misses are reported and investigated in line with company policy.
