Based in the outdoor recreation hub of Squamish, BC, this role will be a great fit for a person keen with planning and coming up with creative solutions to complex logistical challenges who feels passionately about this vision and wants to be a part of a fast-paced culture where individual contributions are recognized.Position ScopeThis is a position for a Maintenance Planner/Scheduler with 2-5 years planning/scheduling experience in water treatment, pulp and paper or similar industrial plant maintenance environment. The ideal candidate will also have experience working as a maintenance technician or similar hands-on experience.Reports to the Manager, MaintenanceResponsible for maintaining the daily, medium term (2-week), and backlog (6-week) schedules across Instrumentation/Electrical, Mechanical, and Fabrication teams using the Fiix Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).Work closely with Maintenance, Production and Engineering staff to set maintenance priorities.Co-ordinate internal resources to deliver the maintenance schedule and support major projects/annual turnarounds.Collaborate with the Purchasing team to ensure inventory is on hand for preventive/reactive maintenance tasks.ResponsibilitiesContribute to a positive safety culture; report incidents, injuries & property damage and implement preventive/corrective measures as required.Provide leadership to the maintenance planning function, develop resource estimates and ensure work is being completed in a safe, efficient, and timely manner.Plan and schedule maintenance work orders using Fiix CMMS software. Assign work orders, prioritize/hasten tasks and ensure tracking, close out and KPI reporting of work.Work with the Operations Supervisor to ensure any infield pre-work (LOTO, cleaning, etc.) is completed prior to maintenance technicians beginning work.Ensure that equipment run hours and other utilization data are populated and tracked in the CMMS.Support Reliability Engineering with data analysis and trend identification to optimize the maintenance schedule.Identify and implement continuous improvements to maintenance schedule, business processes and work procedures to optimize plant reliability, availability, and maintainability.Develop and populate asset Bill of Materials within the CMMS.Define scope, book, and co-ordinate external contractors for specialist maintenance tasks.Maintain OEM O&M manuals for installed assets/equipment and use these to collate/populate the maintenance schedule.Assist Purchasing team with kitting of parts, setting/reviewing stock levels and managing inventory in support of work order completion.Dependent on experience; assist in development and execution of various maintenance and integrity assurance philosophies, programs, and procedures with a drive towards a predictive maintenance regime.Establish good working relationships with other departments.Liaise with various suppliers to discuss maintenance spares and new products.Other duties as assigned.Qualifications and ExperienceEducation: Degree or diploma in a technical field or possess a valid Inter-Provincial trade certification in a related field.Experience: Two (2) to five (5) years of practical experience in planning and scheduling both short- and long-term maintenance activities.Experience in preventive, predictive, and reliability maintenance programs in an industrial/chemical production facility.Experience with CMMS and scheduling systems is a necessity.Ability to read manuals, schematics, and regulatory requirements.Aptitude for logistics, planning and scheduling.Knowledge/experience with Management of Change procedures.Trade experience in Mechanical/Electrical/Instrumentation maintenance an asset.Computer skills include use of Microsoft Office and working with large datasets.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.In addition to technical skills, the right fit will:Be a self-starter with the ability to work independently, act as a subject matter expert and provide technical insight to a range of stakeholders.Thrive on doing things that have not been done before (explorer mindset).Strong analytical, data management and problem-solving skills.Carbon Engineering is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
