Job Description

Mons Royale is an action and adventure sports brand. We are makers of natures performance apparel utilizing merino wool and natural fibers for their superior sustainability and performance benefits. It is our mission to shift the rider from synthetics to natural fibers and since launching in 2009 we have amassed a fanbase including many of the best skiers, snowboarders, and mountain bikers to join us.PurposeYour mission is to shift the rider from synthetics to Mons natural fibres.The North America Sales Manager is responsible for cultivating, establishing, and growing Mons Royales multi-channel wholesale business across North America. This role will build and maintain strong relationships with existing and new accounts, create and execute strategic plans as well as clearly articulate product and marketing needs to drive revenue and achieve goals.Key Outcomes & ResponsibilitiesGrow Mons sales by shifting the rider to natural fibres.

  • Manage, support and grow business with our retail accounts through understanding the unique needs of our account types, and tailoring business strategies to each.
  • Identify & cultivate the sales strategy, highlighting where Mons needs to be distributed and how we get there. Supply the tools, knowledge and skills to grow our business and that of our wholesale partners.
  • Add quality new accounts, that meet our strategic goals and keep us authentically connected to mountain towns and our purpose.
  • Travel for key meetings, events, tradeshows, & market reviews.
Build distribution for Mons through a best-in-class sales team that has the passion, skills and belief in Mons to achieve our growth objectives.
  • Manage, develop and inspire the sales team and maintain their energy and commitment to our key priorities.
  • Scale best practices through the sales team with a view to being a best-in-class sales team - assortment planning and selling, retail math application, key account management.
  • Foster and cultivate strong business relationships with buyers through timely follow-up, active listening, partnership-focused communication, best-in-class support, integrity, and relating to their account’s specific needs.
  • Partner with merchandising & design to create compelling seasonal line showings, specific and relevant to the unique personalities in the North American markets retailer and competition.
Grow revenue and build a business model that has the potential to scale profitably.
  • Manage the margin contribution in the market, lead the thinking on price, discount and stock holding to enable investment in activities such as marketing
  • Maintain a value channel that enables the liquidation of closeout inventory without impacting our core business.Forecast the business needs accurately to enable Mons to have the right stock for the right channels.
  • Work closely with the planning team to analyze in-season (weekly / monthly / quarterly) retail sales performance and, as a result, capture all reorder opportunities.
  • Assist the Sales & Marketing Director to build and execute strategic plans designed to grow sales

Requirements
  • 5+ years of wholesale experience in the retail industry. Background in action & adventure sports, traditional sports, or fashion industry strongly preferred.
  • Desire and ability to work in a results-oriented, fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Market knowledge across different types of national retailers (i.e department stores, fashion, athletic, action sports, resort)
  • Track record in delivering sales results through creative and strategic selling.
  • Extensive experience selling an emerging category will be highly regarded.
  • Ability to travel as required to build relationships and meet the needs of our key accounts.
  • Strong understanding of Excel, sales analysis, reporting and forecasting.
  • Experience managing a high-performance sales team
