Located in Squamish, the heart of BC’s Sea To Sky Country, Squamish Waldorf school is in its 19th year and is growing with this dynamic and rapidly expanding community.The principal brings leadership and support to the pedagogical aspects of the Squamish Waldorf School. This role requires administrative strength, including developing proposals, and guiding the decision-making process with faculty and board in areas related to pedagogy, financial/legal, planning, safety, and human resources areas. The principal collaborates with the business administrator in making decisions about the day-to-day operations of the school, while adhering to existing policies and procedures. The principal actively participates in the healthy functioning of the school, including aspects of recruiting and retention. The role also includes external reporting to the Ministry of Education and liaising with membership organizations including the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America (AWSNA) and the Federation of Independent School Associations of BC (FISA).Administrators are competitively compensated and our benefits package includes tuition benefits for enrolled children, extended health and dental.Candidates must have excellent leadership and administrative skills, a strong business sense, strong interpersonal and public communication skills (English language proficiency), experience with human resources and a deep understanding and commitment to Waldorf education. Candidates must be motivated, determined, flexible, and creative. Requirements include a BC teaching certificate (or equivalent) and plus a minimum five years teaching experience.
