Job Description

From lunchroom banter to problem-solving debates, we genuinely enjoy each other’s company and respect each other’s skills.Position ScopeThis Quality Manager position is a senior role based in Squamish, BC. Youre an experienced Quality Management professional who is comfortable rolling up their sleeves to support current operations while developing an effective Quality Management strategy. While reporting to the VP, Engineering & Projects, you will work closely with the engineering and projects teams, taking the lead in implementing a Quality Management System that will initially focus on short-term legal compliance goals, whilst also laying the foundation for a more comprehensive and company-wide system to support CE as we grow locally and internationally.Responsibilities

  • Working with CE’s leadership, prepare an implementation plan for a Quality Management System, which addresses the short-term legal compliance goals, whilst also laying the foundation for a more comprehensive companywide system, including continuous improvement processes.
  • Identify internal and external resources needed to execute the plan, mapping skills required, gaps, and proposing training.
  • Work together with CE’s departments (internal clients), supporting them in preparing the Quality Management Documentation and skills.
  • Manage team and budget of the Quality Management Department.
  • Communicate with internal and external project stakeholders across all organization levels.
  • Foster and champion, a robust and effective culture that sets Quality as a core organizational value and encourages a coaching approach to quality.
  • Establish and maintain policies & training for workers across the company, which are compliant with EGBC legal requirements, and any other applicable legal requirement.
  • Provide functional expertise, guidance, and technical support to Quality Management related topics.
  • Identify, prepare and deliver training for workers (with help of consultants if needed).
  • Identify and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop dashboards that effectively present quality management data.
  • Demonstrate a positive safety culture, identify, report, and resolve unsafe conditions, processes, or actions within the workplace.
Qualifications:Education:
  • Degree or Diploma in science, engineering, or another technical program, with an additional degree or certification in Quality Management Systems.
Experience:
  • 10+ years experience in QM Systems.
  • Experience developing and implementing QMS from the ground-up.
  • Practical experience working in engineering companies or process industries as lead QMS resource desirable.
  • Comfortable presenting and teaching team members from interns to executives.
  • Knowledge of QM laws, regulations and standards, specifically EGBC, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001/ISO45001 and OSHA desired.
  • Able to work with all stakeholders to ensure quality is not compromised (“Stand your Ground” when necessary).
Key CompetenciesIn addition to technical skills, you also need to have these attributes to be the right fit:
  • A self-starter with the ability to work independently towards multiple deadlines with minimum supervision in a fast-paced environment.
  • Hands-on experience and comfort working in an engineering and industrial environment.
  • Experience in selecting and hiring consultants, as well as in reviewing consultant’s documents.
  • Thrive on doing things that have not been done before (explorer mindset).
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Swiss army knife capabilities and versatility.
