External Job PostingPosition: RCMP Records Clerk 3Status: Regular Full-TimeWork Area: RCMPPosting Date: May 21, 2021Closing Date: Until filled.GENERAL SUMMARYAs part of the Administrative Team within the RCMP Sea to Sky Detachment -Squamish and under the direction ofthe Team Lead - Records, this position provides a variety of administrative and clerical functions, as well as performsspecialized technical work related to the creation and maintenance of RCMP operational records, databases andevidence.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESCustomer Service

  • Follows the District of Squamish's Customer Service Guidelines to ensure the Delivery of Outstanding Service.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Reviews, updates, maintains, and validates operational records on various databases used by the RCMP, ensuring
quality and adherence to relevant policies and procedures.
  • Ensures file room is secure and operational files are maintained as per RCMP policy.
  • Works closely with RCMP Records Team Lead to provide feedback and support to staff who work on operational
databases, regarding local workflow practices and RCMP Policy; communicating to the Team Lead areas that mayrequire additional training or support.
  • Conducts information research on RCMP databases, provides statistical reports and responds to internal audits.
  • Assists investigators with court and disclosure packages.
  • Provides court testimony as required.
  • Handles a variety of electronic files related to criminal cases, investigations and evidence.
  • Extracts data including but not limited to documents, photos, SMS conversations, messenger information and emails
from a variety of media.
  • Assists with front counter and telephone reception inquiries.
  • Assists in updating police databases with urgent court outcomes as required.
  • Processes Access to Information (ATIP) Requests and other disclosure inquiries.
  • Attends and participates in training for assigned responsibilities and duties.
  • Provides transcription support when operationally required.
  • Performs other duties as required.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication s skills.
  • Excellent command of verbal and written English.
  • Excellent understanding of Federal, Provincial, and Municipal Legislation as it applies to RCMP operations.
  • Ability to resource and research information.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to identify and resolve issues.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to perform analytical work that may involve manipulating data.
  • Knowledge of the Access to information and Privacy Act, RCMP and PRIME BC Policy.
  • Sound knowledge of devices, media, cellular communications and computer network technology.
  • Possesses high levels of organization, attention to detail, initiative.
  • Possesses excellent multitasking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret, apply and follow complex legislation and policy, including oral and written instructions.
  • Possesses a minimum typing speed of 50 wpm and very strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, Adobe
Acrobat and police programs such as PRIME, CPIC, JUSTIN, lntellibook and 3si.REQUIRED TRAINING, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Enhanced Level RCMP Security Clearance
  • Degree or Diploma in Criminology, Computer Technology, Business or a related field
AND
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role
OR
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
