At Lafarge Canada Inc., safety comes first, collaboration matters and diversity is celebrated with people who share our desire to continually make our materials better.Do you have the drive, the skills, and the passion to join usOverview:The Cardinal Group, a division of Lafarge Canada Inc., is hiring for a Sales & Operations Manager in Squamish, BC.The Sales & Operations Manager will be responsible for running the day-to-day operations of the company as well as managing the ready-mix concrete team and sales functions, while ensuring that all the policies and guidelines are adhered to. The Sales & Operations Manager will also be responsible for sales forecast development, analytics, operational efficiency, people management, customer relationship management, and other sales support functions. This position reports directly to the Manager, Cardinal Concrete.Responsibilities:Sales Management:

  • Manage the sales administration function, operational performance reporting, streamlining processes and systems wherever possible, and
  • Develop a business plan covering sales, revenue and expense controls, meeting agreed targets, and promoting the organisation’s presence
  • Establish close business relationships with all key customers
  • Assist in the development of market plans, strategies and tools to secure and increase market share
  • Lead the development of pricing structures and processes
  • Ensure that all sales activities are in accordance with company guidelines
  • Analyze customer needs, competitors and market situations
  • Work with customers and credit function to optimize accounts receivable
  • Represent the business at industry events
Operations Management:
  • Understand existing processes, identify process gaps and work to continually improve customer & employee experience
  • Collaborate across departments such as field operations, credit & marketing
  • Advise senior management on maximizing business relationships and creating a culture of service and quality
  • Provide product training to staff and customers
  • Ensuring sales and operations staff have the resources to do their jobs effectively
  • Work to reduce the cost of sales and operations planning, recommending improvements to procedures, contracts and agreements
  • Handle complaints, settle disputes, and resolve grievances and conflicts, with customers and staff
People Management:
  • Responsible for the planning, recruitment, direction, organization and control of staff to accomplish specific objectives
  • Communicate programs, initiatives, results across business departments
  • Responsible for monitoring the performance of ready mix concrete team and sales team
  • Plan and implement a specific appraisal system that describes the responsibilities and performance standards for each member of the team
  • Personally observe the performance of staff in the field on a regular basis
  • Identify the educational needs of staff, develop an education/training schedule
  • Proactively manage health & safety of employees to continuously improve the companys health & safety performance
Qualifications:Education & Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Sales and Operations Manager
  • Business to Business (B2B) experience, with an understanding of construction materials market
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years’ project & people management preferred

Physical Demands:While performing the duties of the job the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands/fingers to touch, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms.Work Environment:This job operates mostly in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This position occasionally spends time on project work sites in differing conditions to include inclement weather, slopes, grade changes, open ditches, and construction materials.Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:This is a full-time salaried position. Regular operations hours of Monday through Friday, 7:30am-4:30pm. This position requires availability during concrete pours to resolve problems and deal with emergencies should they arise.
