Recreation Facility Attendant 2Regular Part-TimeAre you a qualified maintenance expert looking for flexibility to work a part-time schedule Do you aspire to provide a safe and clean facility If so, this may be the position for you! Reporting to the Recreation Facility Maintenance Supervisor, the Recreation Facility Attendant II operates ice making, pool filtration, and janitorial equipment, and performs minor servicing while maintaining and repairing and cleaning recreation facility and equipment.What we’re looking for:

  • Thorough knowledge and ability to operate and maintain a public swimming pool, refrigeration, and ice making equipment.
  • Ability to operate and repair a variety of small equipment.
  • Thorough knowledge of building maintenance and cleaning practices.
  • Ability to work independently, coordinate tasks, and change work priorities to ensure completion of work assignments.
  • Good knowledge of the occupational hazards and precautionary measures as related to building maintenance and janitorial work.
If you tick all these boxes, and have the following credentials, you might be the next key member to our facilities department! Ideally you will possess one of the following: Current 4th Class Power Engineers Certificate, Ice Facility Operator Certificate or Refrigeration Certificate. In addition, you will also ideally possess Pool Operators Level 1, course in Custodial or Building Service (min 16 hours) or 6 months experience in building maintenance and janitorial, current Frist Aid (Worksafe BC level 1), current BC Driver’s license “Class V” with a safe driving records and WHMIS.Who we are:The District of Squamish is a progressive and growing community.
