Job Description

Job Type: Full-TimeThe Gateway to Your FutureIn this key role, you will be an integral part of the security team, ensuring Gateway’s staff, property, company assets and valued guests are secure and protected at all times. You will also deliver a high level of customer service, support to staff, and provide accurate reports. The Security Supervisor maintains a presence, patrols gaming and guest activity; conducts door duty and crowd control, and escorts guests and employees as required.You will perform a number of varying duties throughout your shift, including controlling access to the facility and sensitive areas, escorting visitors, assisting departments, lost and found, monitoring alarm panels, controlling and issuing keys, writing reports, maintaining a daily log and conducting investigations. You may also be required to provide first aid and medical attention.We Provide

Key Responsibilities
  • Demonstrates emergency procedures and protocols.
  • Provides First Aid to guests and employees.
  • Ability to carry up to 25 lbs and use/learn techniques to preserve a safe environment.
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for long periods of time, kneel, run, bend and jump.
  • Facilitates the recruitment process by creating posts, checking references and hiring.
  • Responds to employee and management inquiries.
  • Retains a thorough and updated knowledge of company policies, procedures, and regulations for casino operations.
What You Bring - Security
  • Proven, high level of customer service.
  • Detail-orientated and organized nature.
  • Solid analytical and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Sensitive in dealing with people and proactive in providing solutions.
  • Experience with computers and surveillance equipment.
  • Benefit from working flexible hours, evenings, and weekends.
  • Completion of Gaming Security Officer (GSO) training/exam prior to start (employer will sponsor) OR valid BC Security License and completion of Gaming Security Officer (GSO) training/exam within 90 days of start in B.C.
  • Completion of Serving It Right certificate prior to start date
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods.
  • Social perceptiveness and good vision to identify people.
What You Bring – Surveillance/Additional Duties
  • Maintains a presence – patrols the facility; conducts door duty and crowd control
  • Maintains surveillance of the facility and gaming activities
  • Identifies, records and reports unusual or suspicious activities
  • Executes emergency procedures and protocols; provides First Aid to guests and employees
  • Escorts guests and employees as required
  • Maintains detailed and accurate logs; gathers and submits information for reporting; assists with investigations
