The video production manager is responsible for planning, facilitating, and executing all of Pinkbike’s video efforts. Reporting to the Editor in Chief and overseeing the content creation team, the role will work with presenters, athletes, technical editors, and brands to create great content. The ideal candidate will bring an organized perspective, keen eye for detail, and an ability to get things done. They’ll bring new, creative ideas to the table, and keep Pinkbike’s production team aligned and working effectively.Responsibilities

  • Planning, facilitating, and executing all of Pinkbike’s video and podcast efforts
  • Lead the hiring and development of the content creation team (videographers and presenters). Oversee in-house videographers and presenters, assessing work andmmonitoring schedules.
  • Driving membership with premium videos, and growing the audience with public videos.
  • Building briefs for internal and contract videographers to create compelling content. Commissioning 3rd party contractors and building logistics plans for major productions.
  • Assist in scripting and giving feedback on video content to align with department goals
  • Ensuring that commercial projects are successfully developed and executed on
  • Evolving and applying the Pinkbike video style guide to our content—developing templates for titles, descriptions, effective thumbnails, etc.
  • A/B testing content to make sure it’s presented in the most effective way
  • Work with the rest of the editorial team to plan videos, especially with the technical editorial team on tech content
  • Stay up-to-date with developments in the MTB world to generate new ideas for engaging and growing our audience
  • Stay on the pulse of video production, keeping track of best practices and making recommendations to ensure we stay ahead of the curve.
  • Various other Pinkbike-related tasks as assigned including but not limited to social media, trade show coverage, assisting with projects, and more.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in managing content creation
  • 3+ years of experience managing people
  • Deep knowledge of the YouTube and video production spaces
  • High level understanding of mountain biking—living and breathing mountain bikes is mandatory
  • Ability to find compelling ‘hooks’ and stories, even when not readily apparent; knowing
what’s good is a critical component of the job (not just “decent rider goes to nice placeand does kinda cool thing” but identifying and chasing down “Old Man Rides Hardtail atMegavalanche”)
  • Strong digital skills and understanding of video production; while the role isn’t directly
involved in filming or editing, a working understanding of video production hardware andsoftware is a major plus
  • The job can be done remotely, but will require frequent travel to our video studio in
Squamish, BC
  • Ability to work under pressure with fast turnaround times
Entirely remote jobs that could be performed in Canada: Employees can expect to be paid a salary of between $85,000to $100,000 CAD. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission .
