Watch ClerkRegular Full-TimeThe District of Squamish is seeking full time Watch Clerks to join our growing Police Services team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing a variety of operational and clerical support to the General Duty Watch, the police officers working during an assigned shift at the RCMP detachment. This is an exciting position with no two days the same, your duties will vary depending on the operational needs of the day (or night!).In this role you will bring your natural customer services skills and eagle eye for detail to support a variety of activities including:

  • Performing administrative duties for a General Duty Watch
  • Assisting with updating and maintaining operational records on various databases used by the RCMP
  • Maintaining shift schedules of Police Officers and preparing the shift summary report for the Watch Commander
  • Creating PRIME electronic records
  • Assisting with file preparation for court related documents
  • Acting as Custodial Guard when operationally required
  • And much more!
What we’re looking for: You are highly organized and enjoy multi-tasking. You thrive in a team environment and are passionate about the work you do and supporting the RCMP members. You will be required to obtain and maintain an Enhanced Level RCMP Security Clearance and ideally you have completed your certificate in Business Administration, Policing or Criminology and have three years’ experience working in an administrative role. Flexibility is essential to handle shift work (two - 12 hour days, two - 11 hour nights and 4 days off).Who we are: The District of Squamish is a progressive and growing community.
