We are a looking for an experienced welding QC manager to support our busy fabrication facility located in beautiful Squamish BC - halfway between Vancouver and Whistler.We design and fabricate a wide variety of ASME boilers, pressure vessels and piping systems as well as CWB structural weldaments.We have an immediate need for a Welding QC Manager. The ideal candidate would be a registered welding engineer (P.Eng) or certified welding engineering technologist with extensive experience managing welding quality in a fabrication plant to ASME and CWB codes and standards. The candidate must have their AWS CWI or CWB level 2 welding inspector designation with ASME IX, VIII and B31.3 endorsements. Preference would be give to candidates with CWB level 3.This is a senior technical management position reporting directly to the president. The candidate is expected to be intimately familiar with ASME and CSA codes of construction and able to provided technical input to the engineering department as well as interface with customer inspectors, TSBC and ASME.The candidate will have detailed knowledge of all common welding processes (GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, SMAW) including their limitations. The candidate must be capable of developing WPS and managing supporting PQR for registration of new procedures for P1,P8 and some P44/P45 alloys. The candidate will also conduct welder performance testing per our QC program.The candidate will create traveler sheets, ITPs and manage all NDE (VT, UT,MT,PT,RT). Experience performing UT,MT,PT,RT NDE will be an asset although not essential.There are two main reasons why a candidate would want to work for CSI.
