The branch ensures that Gaming activities in the province are operated with integrity and social responsibility, aligning with Gaming Regulations and Board Policy and deliver on commitments to stakeholders in the province of Alberta.Gaming activities included Electronic Gaming Machines (EGMs), Electronic Table Games (ETGs), Video Lottery Terminals (VLTs), Lottery and Online Gambling.ABOUT THE POSITIONGaming Instructional SpecialistJob Req: 1467Location: St. Albert OfficeDivision/Branch: Gaming / GamingClassification: Information Officer 1 (041)Status: UnionEmployment Status: Permanent Full TimeSalary: $50,683.59 - $65,252.61Advertising:Internal and ExternalClosing Date: October 10, 2022JOB SUMMARYDo you love working with people Is developing online course content and training your forte If so, AGLC is looking for a Gaming Instructional Specialist with experience in course development and adult education to join our busy team! This position is responsible for all instructional program content creation including digital training (DT)/online modules, any audio/video that may be used for virtual or in-person training and manuals. Having strong communication skills (both verbal and written) will help you develop course content and make revisions to various course materials and operations manuals that are clear and easy to follow.Emphasis is placed on specializing in NEW complex emerging technologies achieving service excellence through educating and guiding; building and maintaining positive relationships with staff at all external stakeholder locations to support the AGLC’s values and divisional plans. This position is a key interface between external stakeholders and the AGLC.In addition, this position may be required to provide multilevel electronic gaming instructional (operational and technical) sessions for external stakeholders, aimed at improving performance and increasing knowledge of all products to assist AGLC in achieving its goals and objectives for revenue growth.Gaming Instructional Specialists also require in depth organizational knowledge, strong communication, facilitation and problem-solving skills to provide information and program instruction that is compliant with AGLC policy and operational procedures to adults with a variety of linguistic and cultural backgrounds. This ensures successful learning experiences and performance at the optimal level for each external stakeholder.SKILLS & ABILITIESThe following is required:

  • A 2-year diploma related to Adult Learning and Education or;
  • Grade 12 plus additional course work, with 3-years’ related experience providing creation, instruction and knowledge transfer in a fast-paced environment.
  • Extensive knowledge in Instructional Design, training methodologies, Learning Management Systems and story boarding (preferrable Articulate).
The following will be considered assets:
  • Previous casino/REC (including Innovative Gaming), VLT and Ticket Lottery background.
  • Knowledge of AGLC policies, including Casino Terms and Conditions, Gaming and Liquor Act, and Licensee Handbook of Casino, REC, VLT and ticket lottery networks and an understanding of Gaming Business.
