Job Description

Division Services CentreHuman Resource Services AssistantTemporary Full Time (35 hours per week) – 10 months per yearGreater St. Albert Catholic Schools is located on the original lands of the Cree, those of Treaty 6, and on the homeland of the Métis nation. We encourage applications from all qualified candidates.Position: Under the direction of the Human Resource Services Manager and the Assistant Superintendent, Human Resource Services, the Human Resource Services Assistant will perform duties associated with the day to day operations of the Human Resource Services Department.Duties to Commence: Immediately to June 30, 2023.Qualifications & Duties:

  • Committed to being a model and witness to Christ-centered education values and beliefs.
  • Apply foundational knowledge about First Nations, Métis and Inuit for the benefit of all students, and support the Division’s goals towards advancing Truth and Reconciliation.
  • Post-secondary education and/or experience in human resources/administration preferred.Applicant should be a proven learner.
  • Experience with human resources software an asset (example: PowerSchool Atrieve, Apply to Education) as well as high proficiency with Microsoft Office (PC and Mac platforms) and the Google suite of apps.
  • Under the direct supervision of the Human Resource Services Manager, the Human Resource Services Assistant will work to facilitate school business operations and division personnel functions as assigned. Duties include:
  • Assist with recruitment by preparing postings for vacancies as required, including internal and external advertising requirements. The Human Resource Services Assistant will facilitate applications through Apply to Education, providing support to the administrators during the selection process including reference checks as needed.
  • Send out and process onboarding and benefits packages for new staff.
  • Field inquiries online, by telephone and in person from applicants and prospective applicants to the division.
  • Assist with the organization of recruitment fairs including the preparation of necessary materials for the events.
  • Monitor the substitute teacher/support rosters and coordinate recruitment as needed.
  • Assist with training for the Apply to Education website as needed as well as the online absence system through PowerSchool Atrieve, providing coaching to new staff and liaising with school personnel as necessary.
  • Assist with the organization and tracking of the Long Service recognition program.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
