Job Description

Job Description – Delivery Truck Operator/ Machine operatorPosting: Feb 10-2021$23.00/hr not including overtimeTrucking position requires running and operating a Flat Deck Truck (Ford Sterling LT9511) and a 3-wheel truck-mounted forklift (M50 Moffet) in order to load, offload and delivery of pallets of paving stone, retaining wall blocks, and 1yd bags of landscape materials to residential customers around Edmonton.Involved in logistics, planning, execution and organization of delivery schedules, and maintenance of truck. Client management and relations, and following of safety culture. Winter work may include machine operation for clearing snow sites, using a skid steer. Machine experience considered an asset.Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Safely operating a Ford Sterling LT 9511 and M50 Moffet for delivery of pallets, boulders and 1yd bags of landscape material from suppliers to residential & locations around Edmonton and area.
  • Properly and safely rigging and strapping down loads.
  • Keeping equipment clean and maintained.
  • Filling out daily safety sheets and daily truck inspections and truck logs, via paper or via app.
  • Customer relations with vendors and clients on site
  • offseason option of snow parking lot clearing with skidsteers and/or sidewalk clearing if position is available.
  • Offseason duties including year end safety manual revisions/additions and safety program implementations, tool and building organization, site measurements
  • Daily route setup of days deliveries via Google Maps
  • Tracking of add-ons and additional work during the delivery day
  • Daily invoicing for days deliveries, add ons and special requests
  • Canvassing of additional vendors to sign on for future delivery contracts
  • Monitoring and re-stocking any minor parts and fluids for continual maintenance
Qualifications:
  • Class 3 Drivers License or higher.
  • Forklift or Moffet operation experience
  • Three years previous trucking experience
  • technologically proficient with phone apps
  • High school diploma

  • **Please note drivers are responsible for any and all tickets and fines related to driver error ie. Speeding, load not secured, seat belt etc.
  • Driver not responsible for fines related to truck condition if driver has previously informed manager of issue beforehand, ie. Tail light out, broken mirror etc.
Working Conditions: Normal Working Hours (Summer May 1-Oct 31)-6am-5pm Mondays to Friday (hours can vary)-7am-4pm Saturdays (hours can vary), Sundays 7am-4pm (hours can vary)-Also open to having the right candidate working Thursday, Friday (afternoon/evenings if delivery schedule is busy) and Saturday + Sunday every weekend (If delivery bookings/schedule allows)Normal Working Hours (Winter Nov 1-April 30)-6am-2pm Mondays to Fridays (hours can vary due to snowfalls)-7am-12pm Saturdays and Sundays (hours can vary due to snowfalls)-Overnights may occur on heavy snowfalls.Benefits – Bi-weekly physio optionsHoliday Schedule – 2 weeks notice for requested days off, 1 week per 6 months.Part-time hours: 20-40 per week with potential for overtimeJob Types: Full-time, Part-timeSalary: From $23.00 per hourPart-time hours: 15-40 per weekJob Type: Part-timeSalary: $23.00 per hourAdditional pay:
