Collaborating with local subsidiary HR teams, you will develop acquisition solutions that help support the achievement of the business group workforce planning strategy.The ideal candidate has experience in talent acquisition and is experienced in strategic workforce planning. We are seeking a candidate that is flexible and analytical, with excellent attention to detail and a passion for collaborating with diverse teams.Main Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with local HR teams and management to create recruitment strategies for salaried and hourly workforce
  • Developing workforce planning strategies and tools for Western Canada subsidiaries
  • Lead partnerships with secondary, post-secondary institutions and local networks for talent acquisition opportunities
  • Manage full life-cycle salaried and key hourly recruitment including creating search strategies, actively sourcing candidates, pre-screening, interviewing, and presenting qualified candidates to hiring managers, facilitating the hiring and on-boarding process.
  • Utilize expertise to shape hiring advice for the business unit, contributing to recruitment strategy discussions and decision-making, providing ideas and challenge (thought leadership) to hiring managers
  • Being the expert, and leader on talent acquisition initiatives. The role requires collaboration with all areas of HR to deliver seamless service and a consistent experience for all internal and external clients
  • Build and continuously improve recruitment tools and processes to efficiently attract, source the best candidate, and to build a pipeline of qualified talent.
  • Work collaboratively with the HR Director, HR Leads and operations managers to assess and create best in class recruitment strategies for all positions.
  • Manage HR technology including HRIS (SAP SuccessFactors), recruitment sites, and social media platforms in-line with organizational strategies to enhance recruitment strategies and to promote the company brand.
  • Stay current, monitor, advise and network to identify and apply best practice and innovative solutions for all HR initiatives
  • Candidate Attraction - build a repeatable and scalable formula for finding and engaging key talent.
  • Experiment with and increase the efficiency of sourcing channels/methods to ensure open vacancies are filled in a timely, cost-effective manner with the right candidates.
  • Evaluate and enhance our talent approach ensuring it is authentic, personalized and transparent – candidate-centric recruiting. Maintain a robust candidate pool to increase bench strength and promote a healthy talent pipeline.
  • Build a positive candidate experience to promote long-term professional relationships with passive talent for future opportunities.
  • Bring to maturity Western Canada’s candidate pipeline process by:
  • Researching and recommending best practices
  • Assessing recruitment data to identify hard to fill, volume and niche roles, and use data to proactively address challenges
  • Assist in selecting top talent - conduct in depth intake meetings. Ensure all stakeholders have a good understanding of role outcomes/objectives, desired behaviours, performance, and job requirements.
  • As the subject matter expert, provide advice to facilitate the hiring of the right person, at the right time in support of the business unit’s overall strategy.
  • Get candidates over the finish line - assist HR leads and hiring managers to create a positive candidate experience as well as organizing and managing the interview, offer and onboarding processes.
  • Evaluate hiring practices on an ongoing basis and continuously improve our methods. Monitor metrics and recommend corrective measures to address gaps.
  • Work with the HR Director, Employee Experience Manager and local HR teams to build the Western Canada brand, use social media to improve organization attractiveness to highlight opportunities and build networks to ensure a pipeline of talent is always available.
What you Bring
  • Post-secondary degree and/or diploma in Human Resources or Business
  • 3 – 5 years of full-cycle recruiting experience in a high volume but team-based service culture
  • Preferable experience in an entrepreneurial construction industry, and where service was provided to all levels- dealing with front line staff through to senior management
  • Understanding and experience working as a partner to the business
  • Experience building an integrated recruitment system
  • Experience with talent management metrics and reporting
  • Experience with workforce planning strategies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Goal driven and strong follow up/ follow through skills
  • Understanding of recruiting principles and best practices
  • Self-management and personally accountable
  • Diplomacy and tact
  • Ability to readily adjust approach to accommodate changing situations and respond resourcefully to new demands or circumstances (versatility/ frequent change )
  • Ability to work in a team environment (team player)
  • Ability to build strong relationships- interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Computer proficiency – Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook)
  • Able to travel to local business units
  • Bilingual French/English considered an asset
