Job Description

Cornerstone Co-op is recruiting for a positive, enthusiastic, Home & Building Lumber Estimator for our updated, innovative, and professional building materials Centre. This position will be 40 hours per week and will report to the Assistant Store Manager at the St. Paul Home & Agro Centre. This position will be ideally suited to someone who has construction / building experience such as: Contractor, Contractor sales; Project sales; Construction Manager or similar. It may also be suited to someone with more junior related experience who wants to move into a more senior role. Training will be provided.What youll do:As a brand ambassador, you will model living the brand everyday through our values of Teamwork, Commitment and Integrity and you will contribute to the Home and Agro Centre Team in providing consistent positive customer experiences and an outstanding “You’re at Home Here” customer service level. The Home & Agro Centre is open 7 days per week including most statutory holidays.

  • Deliver a high standard of cost estimating services to our customers/contractors for all their building needs: including houses, garages, etc.
  • Order product for building projects while practicing prudent inventory control
  • Work co-operatively with team members to contribute to the overall success of the Home & Agro Centre
  • Ensure compliance to company policies and procedures, professional standards and applicable laws and regulations
  • Be safety aware and contribute positively to building and sustaining our No Fear safety culture

  • You have thorough knowledge of construction; building materials industry; and products
  • You have thorough knowledge of cost estimating (such as experience with estimating software (Selljax); ability to read blue prints; etc.)
  • You have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Math skills required
  • Computer experience required – such as Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple demands
  • Ability to be adaptable, organized, efficient and committed
  • Have a commitment to quality and an eye for detail
  • Be committed to providing exceptional customer service
  • Be motivated to grow our estimating and building materials business
  • Able to work a variety of shifts – including days, evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays on a rotational basis.
  • Retail experience in a similar position would be an asset
