We are looking for an experienced Acute Care, Registered Nurse to join our team as our Unit Manager. Our unit provides care to all patients including Med/Surg; Labour & Delivery; Palliative and SCU. You will play an important role in facilitating effective working relationships within our interdisciplinary setting. You will provide and apply evidence based knowledge and critical analysis of patient care needs, demonstrating the ability to anticipate and problem solve concerns while initiating effective solutions. You will mentor and act as a clinical resource to the team, and proactively take responsibility for maintaining competence through professional development activities.Description:Reporting to the Site Manager, the Acute Care Unit Manager is responsible and accountable for direction, team leadership and organization over the activities of the Acute Care depatrment, as well as supporting the vision, mission and business plan of Alberta Health Services. The position is responsible and accountable for making unit-level decisions and having direct leadership responsibility for contributing to the achievement of patient and family centred care. As the Manager, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong working relationships with key stakeholders, facilitating change management, promoting team development, teamwork and coordinating staffing and clinical work. You will be responsible for maintaining an effective framework for the operations of patient care services in order to facilitate the delivery of quality assurance and utilization of information. We are looking for someone who has the ability to develop creative approaches to patient care and who demonstrates sound critical thinking and ethical decision making.
