Job Description

Big 8 Beverages in Stellarton, NS is looking for Part-Time Sanitation Workers. As part of our sanitation team, you will be responsible for sanitizing and cleaning all equipment and work areas within the Big 8 processing facility.Job Duties

  • Clean building floors and stairs by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them. Use of mop and bucket weighing no more than 20lbs
  • Gather and empty trash.
  • Clean, and supply restrooms.
  • Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
  • Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
  • Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.
  • Cleaning and Sanitation of Equipment with proper chemicals ,using correct dilution
  • Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications.
  • Steam-clean or shampoo carpets, when or if needed.
  • Clean and restore building interiors damaged by or water, using commercial cleaning equipment.
  • Clean laboratory equipment, such as glassware and metal instruments, using solvents, brushes, rags, and power cleaning equipment.
  • Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
  • Move furniture, equipment, and supplies, either manually or by using hand trucks weighing no more than 50lbs.
  • Sweep and clear debris from grounds.
  • Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
  • Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
  • Job requires individual to walk. kneel, and stand throughout shift.
  • Use of card board waste bailer.
  • Other duties as requested
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 1-2 years professional cleaning experience
